Business Licenses & Permits in Uzbekistan

For sector-specific regulatory licensing — financial services, pharmaceuticals, energy & subsoil, and construction — see Bond Stone's Regulatory Licensing in Uzbekistan →

Bond Stone advises international and domestic businesses on licensing and permit requirements across all regulated sectors in Uzbekistan — from initial strategy through application preparation, regulatory liaison, and ongoing compliance management.

Uzbekistan distinguishes between activities requiring a formal licence and those requiring a notification or permit. Licences, permits and notifications are governed by Law No. ZRU-701 of 14 July 2021 on Licensing, Permitting and Notification Procedures, and the authorised body for each activity is named in its annexes: for example, regional tourism departments for tourism licences, and the Inspectorate for Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market for alcohol production and wholesale. Operating without the required licence is grounds for administrative suspension of operations and significant fines.

Governed by: Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Licensing, Permitting and Notification Procedures" No. ZRU-701 dated 14 July 2021 (as amended); sector-specific laws. Authority: lex.uz
