Kazakhstan introduced a tax on cryptocurrency mining activity effective January 2022, marking a significant step in the regulatory framework for digital assets. The current framework is governed by the AIFC digital asset regime administered by AFSA, in addition to the domestic tax provisions under the Tax Code.
